Well, that’s one way of avoiding responsibility. There’s a new report that suggests Prince Andrew may be spending the rest of his life in the UK under “palace protection” according to one royal source. That’s to avoid any extradition now that Virginia Giuffre has filed a lawsuit against the royal, claiming that he had sexually assaulted her when she was just a minor. Keep reading to find out more.
According to reports, Virginia has filed a civil case against Prince Andrew on Tuesday under New York’s Child Victims Act. She has repeatedly made her allegations against dead but also disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein, Ghislaine Maxwell, and Prince Andrew, but the lawsuit was the first time she has directly confronted Andrew in such a formal setting.
In a statement, Virginia said she was “holding Prince Andrew accountable for what he did to me.”
Yet it appears as though Prince Andrew might find protection under his mother Queen Elizabeth’s royal umbrella, as there’s a chance that he might stay in the UK to avoid prosecution.
In Us Weekly’s Royally US Podcast, royal expert Joe Drake put it this way: “I have been hearing a lot here in the States that Prince Andrew will likely stay in the UK for possibly the rest of his life or definitely while this is going on so he can avoid questioning. Do you think that that’s a possibility, that he will just hole up in England for the rest of his life?”
Royal commentator Mikhaila Friel responded to the claim: “Anything is possible at this point, I certainly believe it could be true. With the protection of the Palace, I imagine he is in a better position here in the UK.”
So far Buckingham Palace has not made any comments about the matter.
