The latest trailer for Zack Snyder’s Justice League focuses on Darkseid and features a glimpse of Green Lantern during the history lesson. In the run-up to the release of the director’s cut of the movie on HBO Max next week, several trailers focusing on the main characters have been released. The first few have focused on the six members of the Justice League, each of them revealing new footage and a better look at how different Zack Snyder’s Justice League is from the theatrical version released back in 2017. Tuesday’s highlighted Cyborg’s Knightmare vision, for example.

One of the significant differences in Snyder’s version of the movie is the inclusion of Darkseid, who was initially meant to be the villain controlling Steppenwolf, setting him up to be the main villain of Snyder’s Justice League movies. He was removed entirely from the theatrical version after Snyder left and was replaced by Joss Whedon, leaving Steppenwolf as the lone villain. But in Zack Snyder’s Justice League, Darkseid returns as the so-called “big bad,” voiced by Ray Porter, and his mission to wipe out all life on earth is revealed in a sequence called the “history lesson.”

The latest teaser for Zack Snyder’s Justice League, posted by Snyder on Twitter on Wednesday, focused on Darkseid and Steppenwolf’s mission for him and featured a very brief glimpse confirming Green Lantern appears in the history lesson. It’s a blink and you’ll miss it moment, but the Green Lantern can be seen 45 seconds into the video, using his powers to defeat. You can watch the full video below:

This version of Green Lantern is Yalan Gur, also briefly seen in the shortened flashback sequence in the theatrical version of Justice League. This glimpse confirms that he was included as part of Snyder’s plans and not added by Whedon or the studio. Whether audiences will get a closer look at Yalan Gur in the full version of Zack Snyder’s Justice League remains to be seen, though it is unlikely, given the focus of the sequence is Darkseid and not the Green Lantern Corps.

Last month, there was speculation that a version of Green Lantern, either played by Ryan Reynolds or another actor, would appear at the end of the movie. This came after a report said Zack Snyder’s Justice League ending has a mind-blowing superhero cameo. However, Reynolds denied it was him, and it seems as though the cameo is not a Green Lantern. Still, it’s good to know Yalan Gur still appears in this version of the movie, even if it is just briefly.
